Hey,

So not very happy with Apples customer service regarding my Early 2011 Macbook Pro. I won't explain all the details but while I was in London training for a new job I had them look at it because of how it grinds to a halt when playing videos and the like (had a lot of gfx problems & 2 logic board replacements). It also had a bulging battery which I had removed at Apple Support place.

They didn't care about the battery and wanted £100 for that and they reinstalled OSX and said it's now working fine. It doesn't seem fine but whatever I will just just use it for DJing as it seems to be OK with that.

I need to get a new battery. If Apple want £100 that seems excessive. Can I buy an official one anywhere else and fit it myself or do I just have to suck it up, get it replaced and never buy another Apple product again.

Only Apple sell official Apple parts. I'd have thought that a bulging battery was covered, no matter how old it is as it's a safety hazard.

You would think. It swell up so much that it pushed the track pad in. It's not like I left it to get like that either, it was an over night thing.

Gah £100 for a battery is ridiculous but if it's what I must do guess I have to suck it up.
