MacBook Pro - Can I Play?

Hi all,

I am currently running on a late 2013 rMBP with the following specs -

- Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
- Memory 4 GB 1600MHz DDR3
- Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB
- OS OS X 10.9.5 (but upgrading to Yosemite as I type this)

My question -

Can I run WoW without damaging my rMBP for extended periods of time and at best, what resolution and graphics settings?

I would value the input of someone more technically knowledgeable on such things please.

In what way are you expecting your MBP to be damaged by running WoW? It's just a game and not a particularly demanding one at that.

I use my rMBP and it gets hot... Temps get to ~90ºC and the fans are on full blast, but no it shouldn't do any long lasting damage.

Cheers, that's reassuring, it does get quite hot but that's expected with the casing type.

I am playing with everything on low which kinda sucks, but would prefer a steady FPS over graphics in the interim

I played WoW on a 2006 MacBook. I think your rMBP will be fine, warm but fine.
