MacBook Pro Charger

It does work.

A girl who had a MacBook in my class used my charger because she forgot hers. Although I'm pretty sure they operate on different volts or frequencies or something like that.

Thanks. You may recall my thread regarding my girlfirend who is studying in Germany and her MacBook charger started burning. Well after I spoke to Apple they gave me the address of two service centers in Germany which my girlfriend went to today. The first one had no chargers and the second one only had MacBook pro ones which they replaced her MacBook one with. It was an Authorised service center (they scanned the MacBook's barcode for the service info) so I think they wouldn't have gave it her as a replacement without knowing it would work.

Hopefully this one won't catch fire or anything.

Just because the power brick can supply up to 85W does not mean the MacBook/Pro actually uses all 85W. It will be fine.

It will just use as much as it needs.

Well she was using it last night when she called me on Skype and said it was working fine with no problems, just that the brick is slightly larger than the old one.

macbooks, have a much smaller "brick" compared to MBP's version.

If you use a 60w charger on the MacBook Pro then you can use it, but it will struggle to charge it when you do strenuous things.

The other way around (85w on MacBook) would be fine though :)
