Anyone use a Digital TV tuner with their MBP?

I know of one that fits into the 3/4 card slot and others that are USB based.

I'm looking for one that has two tuners and preferably with an open programming interface. A mate is doing a TiVo-esque type application and I'd like the possibility of doing a mac version, although this isn't a defining requirement.

Miglia and Elegato are considered the best really.

Both are USB based, and come with pretty robust software for Mac

EyeTV is the most highly regarded software available for Mac OS X. They might be a bit pricey, but they have the most complete software and enough different types of hardware to keep most people happy.

I bought an Equinux TubeStick, which was a good deal cheaper than the equivalent Elgato. It came with their software, called The Tube, and a copy of MediaCentral (which is pretty spiffy). Not quite as polished as EyeTV, but still pretty good.

I just wish I could get a decent reception in my room :(

I would suggest the EyeTV Diversity because it fits your needs.

Yep, one nice feature is that if you're not using the two tuners then it will use both to create a better reception of the single channel you're watching.

Not got it yet.
