So i got a Macbook pro (2.2ghz) to use boot camp and install windows XP sp2.

when ever im on a longish conversation over skype sometimes with webcam the laptop seems to get really really hot(fans on max), is this something that everyone will experience?

secondly, is there a good temperature monitor which doesnt eat up CPU processes for xp?

also is there a way to get the task manager out without the ctrl+alt+delete? as i dont have the delete key(atleast i dont think so).

Thank you very much.

Sounds like your Windows drivers are causing excess "stress" on the system and this is causing the fans to spin up.

You've mentioned that it seems to happen when you use the webcam, is there another iSight driver you could try? Also, are you running Leopard?

i think im on the OS before the leopard, iv just been introduced to the world of mac and im not finding it too easy.

I think the driver came with boot camp, and i have the latest boot camp... so im guessing i have the latest driver for the webcam... its a guess though.

also when this happens, only skype gets a bit crashy and extremely slow, all other softwares work fine. could this be the cause?

Can you not just use Skype on Mac?.. that'd rule out any Skype issues.

Right click the taskbar at the bottom the screen and select Task Manager... Its deffo there in Vista, 90% sure it was there in XP too?

Still confused why you seem to be using XP most of the time on ya mac? Why did you not get a Windows Laptop and save a few quid in this case? Or did you mention why above?

All cool posts here.
i bought this off a friend who won it in a pool competition, he sold it to me for 1150 pounds for the macbook pro and the dell 2407 monitor with no stuck pixels.

anyways i will take a look at how much processes its muchin up with the next convo, when ever it may be.

thanks very much !
ALSO, whats a CPU usage percentage?
