Macbook Pro Expresscard/34 or Firewire 800

Just got the new Macbook Pro 17" and have noticed it has a expresscard/34 slot now I shoot a lot of photography so use Compact Flash cards in My D3. I have a Lexar Compact flash firewire 800 drive which I ues on my iMac and is very fast but don't want to keep taking it with me when i'll be using my MBP. So how do the 2 compare ? Seen this expresscard/34 compact flash card reader for about £12 but not sure what the speeds are like. anyone use one.

If it's £12 then it's probably a USB device (ExpressCard has support for USB on some of the pins). I'd guess your FW800 reader will be a fair bit quicker.
