Macbook Pro Firewire 800 help

Hey guys,
I'm considering a Macbook Pro, 2010 model 2.66ghz 13" Core 2 Duo, for audio work in Cubase, Reason, Logic etc. I'm about to make the purchase when I realise I don't understand Firewire 800, and the port thats on the macbook.

I have a firewire mixer that i use to record into Cubase etc, it's the old firewire which i think is FW 400. The new macbook has a firewire 800 port, can i plug my firewire mixer into this 800 port?

Yes, you can, but you'll need a FW400 to FW800 cable as the connectors are different.
