Ahoy,

Got an mbp with a problem and wondered if any Mac daddies (heh!) can advise..

When booting up a blank screen is presented with a grey folder icon in the middle with a white question mark inside. It does not go beyond this point and wondered if anyone had an idea?

Cheers!

Sounds to me like you will need to reselect the startup disk, you can do this by inserting your OS10 DVD rebooting and holding the 'C' key, this will cause the system to boot from the DVD you can then access the installer and reselect the boot disk, this should solve your problem!

A simpler way is to hold the option key on startup, this will then bring up the boot loader and allow you to boot from the hard disk. Once booted and logged in, open System Prefs, Startup Disk and select your hard drive and reboot. Your system should then boot as normal.
