Hi all you lovely people on the overclockers forum!

I'm a new user an this is my first post!

I'm having problems with my new Macbook Pro. It is randomly locking up when doing something as simple as running a web browser. Its a complete system lockup. I physically have to power it off.

I decided to run Apple Hardware Test (from the first installation cd) to discover that within 2 mins 36 seconds there was an error: 4mem/2/400000000:466ed10

So there is blatantly a hardware issue hear.

I contacted the 'Bay* seller and the reply i received was :

Hi Scott

The unit was brand new unopened when you got it

So I can give you a refund but it will not be in full

As I would have to sell it as used

*Please don't blast me for buying off the 'bay i have learnt my lesson and will not be buying anything value.

Any information /suggestions would be great.

Thanks Scott

Thanks for the quick reply.

I phoned the customer support and talked through the error he identified it as a common memory error.

He suggested the same thing, re-seating the ram and gave me information on getting it checked out.

So i took ot the battery and removed and tested each stick one a a time. The first stick passed and the second stick showed errors.

So ill be taking it so Scotsys (system diagnostics and repairs) tomorrow. Its only 5 mins from the house so no big deal.

Thanks Scott
