Hey guys!

I'm upgrading my 4GB to 8GB DDR3, Macbook Pro 13" C2D 2.66ghz (mid 2010)

Can you guys tell me whether I need 1066, 1333 or 1600mhz RAM? Are they all compatible? What's the realistic difference...

Currently I've got 1066mhz Apple standard RAM in and Apple website says use PC38500 which is 1066mhz isn't it. Though I've seen posts from others saying it's possible to use 1333 or even 1600? The cost difference is minimal so I'm just wondering if it will be stable.

Thanks! :)

I'd recommend getting a kit from Crucial, as it's guaranteed compatible. Been using them in all my Macs for years and never had a problem with compatibility or faulty modules..

To answer the original question - 1066MHz for the Core 2 Duos. If you put faster in it will just run it at the lower speed. There's no benefit anyway to faster RAM as the CPU front side bus runs at 1066MHz.
