Macbook Pro - Replacement Battery recommendations?

I need a new battery for my MacBook Pro - A1175. Can anyone recommend a replacement? My choice seems to be original Apple battery, but it's £97 and it receives a 1 star rating on the Apple Store, or a no brand imitation for about £35. Normally I would just buy the Apple one, but the low rating from multiple users is bothering me. I would prefer not to pay nearly £100, but I do want a battery life of 2.5 hours again! The original has lasted me 2 years.

Anyones experiences would be appreciated.

But if the Generic ones are about £40 odd, and wont last as long, and will most likly never come to hold the charge the Appl eones does.....whats the problem again?

The comments of the Apple Store seem to indicate it doesn't hold its charge very long. If this is the case, has anyone used a third party one and how do they compare? If there is not much in it i'll save some money and buy 3rd party, else i'll take a punt on the Apple one.

If its under 300 cycles and under 80% capacity then they should replace it.

Have you calibrated it recently?

To find out battery conditions look at: Coconut Battery

Yes I calibrated it. 25% Health after 149 cycles.

Just rang Applecare, they won't replace it.

How old is this Macbook Pro?

Might have better luck in an apple store.

As for this dont last very long thing, the new apple batteries are the same as the one that came with it and they have their own year warranty.

TBH i'd stump up and pay it.

A laptop without a decent battery is pretty pointless.

You could buy applecare but thats £250 I think without the HE discount!
