Hey all,

Whether I'm connected to Wifi or by ethernet connection, whenever I close my macbook lid and put it to sleep, the connection dies as when I open it up again, I have to wait around 10-15 seconds before I'm able to use the internet again.

Is this the norm?

And if it is, is there anyway around it?

Thanks,

Marky

It isn't the norm and I have had someone complain about this after updating to 10.7.3. If it is a widespread issue with that update, you'll probably have to wait for a fix.

10.7.3 was supposed to address most of the wifi issues. Could be something else though. Does your browser connect to any proxies?

Could also be worth repairing disk permissions with Disk Utility then deleting your WiFi in the network settings and re-adding it. And change any other network services that are listed to "make inactive"

Im lucky, although I suffer from most of the other wifi issues on my macbook pro, with Lion...this one I seem to avoid! I hope they come soon with a fix for everything that is currently messed up with the wifi!

I got this, but only really noticed it when i got a superhub from virgin. Was using lion before that and didn't notice sleep/wifi issue
That's interesting as I am using the Superhub at the moment. I'm hoping to get my old Netgear attached to it in Modem mode soon. I wonder if that will fix the problem...
