My Lady has a Macbook Pro and recently it has been running slow, and taking time to respond. It has 4gig of ram which very little is being used and plenty of unused HDD space.
Can anyone suggest any checks to make or fixes or anything.

Oh, I am not a Mac user so bear with me as I dont use the things myself.
