Evening chaps,

I've been debating this for a few weeks and I'm going to be taking the plunge and swapping up my macbook pro for a desktop windows machine for my music production. I have a budget of around £1000 to work with, not needing peripherals or an OS. This is what I've come up with:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £948.71
(includes shipping: £0.00)

This is what I've thrown together after browsing through the Overclockers site. Just a few things on the list to say: 32GB RAM. I know it's a lot but I regularly end up using the swap/paging file on my macbook with 16GB of ram due to large sample libraries being loaded into any one project, this is also hence the 500GB boot/library SSD I've added.

I would use the two 1TB drives as a RAID1 for project storage, is this a decent idea or would there be a better/more reliable way to store projects? I haven't added a HSF as I'm not 100% on what to go for in terms of quietness so advice would be great there too.

The only part of the build that is essential is the PCI-E firewire card as the interface I use is firewire only.

Won't be needing one, I'm not going to be doing anything graphic intensive on it so I'll just be using the on board graphics for this build.

As I said above I will be needing a heatsink suggestion as I'm not 100% sure which direction to go for quietest operation.
