MacBook Pro Woes

Hello,

Having a bit of trouble with the MacBook and I have no idea why.

I set the computer down on the chair earlier and went into the kitchen to get something to eat, came back and tried to get it out of sleep mode.

Nothing happening, as it was turned off. Strange as I didn't remember shutting it down.

Turned it back on anyway and worked away. Then left it for a full charge as I went for a sleep. When I woke up I took it out of charge and went to turn it on, got about 2 seconds of the now annoying welcome noise and then dead.

Tried this a few times. Thought 'Oh Great' as my other main computer is in RMA stage and this is the backup. Plugged the power adapter in and hoped for the best - turned on fine.

Thought it may have been a one off, so unplugged the power adapter whilst it was still running - worked for a fine seconds, then a nice 'clunk' sound where the power adapter goes in - and it was off.

The battery is fully charged and I took it out and in again. There's nothing obvious that seems to be wrong, then I checked the 'Battery Health' via one of the widgets and it's at a low of: 59%

This usually goes up and down like a yo-yo (late 80's to 90's) but this is as low as I have seen it. Would this be the problem?

If so, what is the best solution? Is it likely to go back up to normal or will I need a replacement, assuming it's the component in fault.

Thanks for any help.
