So, a few days in and im enjoying my Macbook. Have been learning lots of stuff on OSX and am pretty impressed so far, so have decided to reward it on next months payslip with some accessories :p

At the moment i've been looking at the "slip cases" on the Apple site from be.ez and Incase and both look good, was just wondering if anyone had any personal experience with any and could recommend one?

What about the "iSkin" things that sit on your keypad...are they any good at protecting the keys, and protecting the screen from the keys when the lappys closed? At the moment i've been using the bit of thin polystyrene that came with it to try and ensure the screen doesn't get any key imprints on it, but its abit flimsy and rubbish!

Am also going to replace the 2x512 modules with 2x1GB ones - not really asking for an opinion on that bit, just wanted to metion it :)

Roll on next payslip!

I have an Incase neoprene case for my macbook which I like. It adds minimal bulk to the laptop with its snug fit. It wont save it if you drop it but for keeping scratches off it while chucking it in the car or inside another bag its brilliant. Theres no room for the power adapter though.

As for keeping keyprints off the screen I wouldnt bother. Ive had my macbook for ages and never used one of the products you mentioned. Theyve literally invented that "problem" to sell you the solution. The screen doesnt even touch the keys when the lid is closed. :)

I don't think the Macbook has the keys problem, I think it's the Macbook Pro if anything. Mine certainly doesn't have that problem anyway.

I've got an Incase neoprene slip for my MB, and for what it is it's very good. It's a nice toight fit, like my laptop's wearing a wetsuit :D

As the dude above said, it will do little to no good in a drop situation, but for scratch protection and just generally keeping it safe day to day it's tip top.

I've had both an Incase Neoprene Sleeve and the LaRobe Kakee Sleeve, and out of the two I'd say the Neoprene one was the better.

Both offered excellent protection, but the LaRobe case wasn't so streamlined, and that can make all the difference when slipping a MB, or MBP in to a carry bag.

Not sure I'd agree with Mohinder in the fact that the Neoprene case was a tight fight, but then again I think that may be down to the 17" being that much bigger, who knows?

I'd definately recommend buying some kind of sleave for it as i put my macbook inside my back with a book and my lunch and now it has loads of small scratch's on the lid :-(. Going to be ordering one in a few days, just wish i'd done it earlyer!

Yeah i saw them, wasn't so sure if they were any good. As above lots of people have the Incase Neoprene one - so was going to try and get myself one of them and hope i don't get any scratches on the MB etc...
