Macbook Question

Erm I am probably being a total noob but a friend of the family wants me to give him Computer lessons - just basic stuff.

So I currently have his Macbook here but I cannot for the life of me get it to connect to the net via my wirelss connection.

I have tried all the wizards etc and even though I know my network name and password etc ( as I invented them ) it still tells me the password is wrong ..other times it seems to see the network (if I make it visible) but I still cannot get it to connect :(

I have never had any problems with the various windows laptops I have played about with...So is there anything I am overlooking when trying to get this stupid macbook to connect ? it is beoming very frustrating .
 
I had this problem once, never did get to the bottom of it. It was at my folks who live in the sticks so I just hid the SSID and added mac authentication instead.
 
Yup it is a Linkksys

After much messing about it seems it will work with WPA personal but not WPA2 (which Is what I normally have set) ..seems strange but at least its working ..anyhow thanks for the replies :)
