Hi folks,

I am considering selling off my pc and getting an entry level macbook just for browsing the net. I don't really know loads about them though so I have a few questions.

How long does the battery last on the macbook?
How easy is it to set up on my wireless network?
Is 1gb of ram enough for osX or odes it really need more? I'll only really be using it for browsing/ itunes etc?

Any recommendations on them or suggestions. I am going to go into work tomorrow to do some catch before next week and was thinking of picking it up on my home.

Thanks

Matt

Hey,

The battery on the MacBook lasts around 4 hours for me never really counted how much time exactly. But it lasts a while when browsing the web ect.

Settings the wireless up is simple you basically do it when you first boot up the laptop.

1Gb is enough for what your going to be using it for. You only need more if your going to be running a bunch of programs at the same time like office and photshop. I ran my MacBook on 1Gb for a month and just used it for web browsing, itunes and watching movies and it never really slowed down. Only when using stuff like office and photshop, as they are memory hungry programs from what I've seen.

If you find the MacBook to lag a bit when you have a couple of apps open then I recommend you upgrade to 2GB ram or more. But 2Gb is enough for nearly anything as it is very cheap these days and it is quite easy to upgrade ram on the MacBook. I doubt you will need 2Gb though.

I echo pretty much everything leetzor says. The battery life is great, the wifi setup is about as easy as you can get and the RAM is so cheap and easy to replace it a very minor concern.
