Hi,

My daughter is asking for a MacBook for Christmas, mainly to use for her A Levels - for PhotoShop CS6 for her graphics coursework

Any advice please.....a lot of money to make a wrong choice.

Thanks

I'd suggest a MacBook Air, it's the cheapest MB available and she should be able to use Photoshop and other applications for her A Levels without any issues, look out for deals this weekend as it is the Black Friday weekend :)

Thanks for that.
I dont mind going higher spec - around £1k or so.

Been looking around for deals, but I dont have a clue about MacBooks.

Macbooks are quite easy to choose from if you're choosing from the current lineup.

What size SSD do you need?
What size screen?
Air or Pro? The air is cheaper and more portable, the Pro is still quite portable and is more powerful.
The RAM does change in some of them but even the entry level (4GB or 8gb I think is the base) should be enough.

Managed to get a 13.3" pro with retina, 128gb SSD, 8gb ram
£919 minus another 10% as my wife's brother works at the store.
Quite pleased with that, picking it up in the morning.
