A couple of weeks ago I installed an SSD into my 2009 MacBook Pro - it is a Crucial M4 512GB. The install went perfectly and has really given my MacBook a nice boost in performance. I enabled TRIM using a terminal command - which seems to be working fine.
Anyway, I've just done a clone to an external HDD using Carbon Copy Cloner. Just because I'm paranoid about this kind of thing I used 'Get Info' to see the sizes of the backups - the internal SSD is showing 57GB used - the external HDD is showing 47GB used?
As far as I can see the clone is fine - everything seems to have backed up without problems. Can anyone give me an explanation as to why there is a difference in size?
