Hi, just a quick question to ask, do/can the macbooks come with a tv tuner?

If not can you buy a external tv tuner?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply

How good is the quality on that? Also, im intending on buying a 22" monitor to go with a macbook, do you think it is worth buying a monitor with a built in tv tuner in that or buy something like the tube stick?

A tuner that goes through your Mac will let you record from it, a monitor won't. Also a USB tuner will let you watch TV in a window while you do other things, with the monitor it would be either TV or the computer.

It's £30 and it does the job. Like I said there are more expensive options that have a lot more features made by Elgato etc.

Buy a decent monitor to go with it, not some cheapo one with a built in tuner :)

Well ill have the macbook screen to do work on whilst watching tv... I quite like the idea of a ordinary tv with remote etc/ monitor in one. The only downside is not being able to record... I would definatly like good quality tv, i have a tv tuner at the min on my pc and its very poor quality. Hardly worth using it at all.

What are monitors such as the lgm228wa like when it comes to watching tv?

Buy a HDD based PVR for that then :)

I just bought a Miglia TV Mini Express for 39 quid (same one is 70 quid in the well known PC store), seems ok but nowhere near as sensitive as the DVB-T card in my old PC. It comes with the same software as the Elgato one as far as I know.

I plan to sort out the coax and connectors in my roof tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to get a decent ITV picture again.
