Macbook won't connect to WLAN

So I bought a new router (netgear dg834gt) and it is working fine. I have 2 windows machines connected to it via ethernet, 1 printer via ethernet, and 2 macbooks and 1 windows laptop connected via wireless.

Now one macbook connected fine at first but now refuses to connect. It sees the network, has good signal, has the correct password (WPA-PSK) but still no luck. I have changed the channel on the router to 6 as we have cordless phones, but this made no difference. I deleted the airport .plist file and set it up again but still no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Daven

Does the router offer both b & g wireless? I have to have my Netgear router set to g only to get it to work with my Macbook...

I had a similar issue recently and it turned out to be another DHCP enabled device on the network which was assigning an IP which was outside the routers range. The Windows machines had a much longer lease time and so had not yet been affected by it but the Macbook and iMac had a much shorter lease time and were both suddenly afflicted by an inability to browse the internet.

Until I realised what was happening with the other DHCP server I fixed it short term by manually assigning an IP and DNS.

Now while it's unlikely that the cause is the same, do check your IP (go to the console and type ifconfig) is in the same range as your router.

I've got the Sky version of this router and I've had a few different types of Intel Mac connected to it with no problems. B&G mode, Channel moved to 11 to avoid interference from the neighbours.

Another thing I tried to get mine working was changing the WLAN password as this seemed to refresh the connection on the Mac. It was a bit of a trial and error process really.

I had this problem too yesterday with our pro's sorted it by manually assignining ip's.
