I've got a 2015 MacBookPro and it needs a new battery.
It's old, but serves me well for what I ask of it.
I've replaced it once, but the replacement didn't last even 30% as long as the original.
Is there a good source for 3rd party batteries that have a decent lifespan, or things I shoudl look for in the listed specifications of batteries?

I'm curious to see the outcome to this - my 2015 MBP battery is dying, so I'll be in the market for an upgrade.. but don't want to buy a dud battery for it!

Also following with interest.

My 2015 MBP still works on battery for a surprisingly decent amount of time. However, it does this thing where, even though it's charged, it turns itself off randomly. If I plug it in, it will reboot, and then I can unplug it and continue to use it for however long it is left on the battery, but it's a bit of a pain (especially if I'm nowhere near a plug socket to reset it).

I assume a new battery would solve this issue.

PSA Parts is a company I'm aware of that sells MacBook batteries. They are a big multinational parts supplier. I've not ordered from them so if you do, let me know how good they were.

I used iFixit the first time, and as noted, it lasted about 18-24 months before I started to notices that it wasn't keeping a charge aswell as it had originally.
This time around I've gone with a cheapo from the rainforest... it's doing ok, but it's not even been a month.

Note it's a pain to get the original battery out due to the glues that holds it in. It's worth getting some of that glue disolver stuff.

Yeah reading the ifixit guide, it does look like Apple didn't want that battery to ever be separate from the laptop ever again. Maddening decision on their part!
