Basically as title, my newly built PC has been stable as a rock for two weeks, then randomly this evening, I start playing COD2 and within an hour the machine turns off completely (not shutting down, no BSOD's or anything like that, just literally as quick as a powercut).

I thought it may be videocard overclock, so clocked down, same thing happened within maybe 30 mins of playing COD2. I start up my PC again, but clock down the CPU, same problem.

I'm rather confused now, MBM5 seems to be reporting my 12v line at 6.55v, but I don't think its accurate at all, the bios seems to think its at 12.2v, and is set to beep at 9.6v (which it isn't doing), but something is still telling me PSU could be an issue.

Any other ideas guys?

I'd be tempted to rebuild it if i were you, start by running it barebones, only hdd/ram/mb/cpu/cooler/psu/gfx
the bare minimum.

It sounds like either a mounting issue, or a PSU issue.

Also check the NB/PWM temps under load.

If you could list your setup that would help a lot

Sounds like PSU or summat along those lines. Have you tried it with the PC plugged directly into the wall?- Maybe its trying to pull more than the extension (If present) can supply?
As always though, we can't do much without the specs :)

Its definately not a shorting issue, as said its been stable for two+ weeks, and im quite confident in my ability to build a PC (its my job afterall), in theory, troubleshooting it shouldn't be a problem, but nothing is appearing to be an obvious cause.

Specs:

Coolermaster ATCS 201B-SXK
Hiper 580W Type-R PSU
Abit AN8-SLI
AMD A64 X2 3800+
92mm YS-Tech fan on a swiftech MCX6400-V
1GB Corsair PRO 3200 LLPT
2 x Gainward BLISS 512MB 7800GT's
2 x Samsung Spinpoint 80GB SATAII drives in RAID
2 x Optical Drives (DVD-RW and CD-RW/DVD combo)
Hauppage WinTV Nova-T DVB-T Tuner
3 x 80mm intake/outlet fans

Now the processor generally runs at 250x10 (prime stable for 8+ hours like this), but have tried stock, and pretty much anywhere inbetween. Video cards have been tried both stock and clocked.

Am wondering if its worth seeing if the machine is stable if I remove the 2nd video card.
