Machine not posting with extra RAM

OK machine details are in my sig. The problem is I put in an additional 6 GB RAM into my mobo and my machine does not post - it just sits there with the lights on and the fans whirring but nothing!

Is this a limitation of the mobo..I thought it could handle more RAM. Should I be changing somwthing like voltage etc prior to putting more in? RAM I am using is corsair platinumXMS 3 1333mhz with everything on default.

Never come across this before so not sure where to start with troubleshooting it - should I start by taking out the existing RAM and putting the 3 new sticks in ?

Try a CMOS reset, sometimes this has worked for me, but this will erase any overclocks ect.

If that fails try each module separately just in case there is faulty one.

Or try upping the NB voltage a little.
