machine powers down after being punched

I recently built a quad core system for a friend and everything was fine on it untill the other day -

he tried to download an 8 meg email which just didn't work for him so after leaving the machine for about 4 hours he punched the front of the case and bust the power button and most of the panels on it lets just say he has a mild temper

anyway he removed the front panel and found the power switch (after having turned the machine off) and turned it back on this is where the problems start

basically the machine powers up and then turns itself back off this can be as soon as the power button is pressed or up untill windows has just booted

I have had the machine back reset cmos, removed all front panel cabeling and still it does not remain on

any ideas anyone

system specs

q6600 efficient version
p5k asus mobo (one beep on boot green light on mobob is lit)
2gb 6400 corsair
huntkey psu
akasa (half bust) case
std cooling with no oc'ing at all
hitachihi deskstar hdd

as i said i have managed to get in to windows and it booted with no probs untill it auto shut down and i have also loaded defaults on bios

depending how hard he hit it, have you tried reseating everything, including the cpu cooler.

im actually planing on rebuilding it tonight/tomorrow

but it seems tight also the mem modules are in nice and snug too
