OK. We have a machine based around an Intel brand motherboard.
In the BIOS we have turned off all boot devices with the exception of optical drives and hard drives.
The boot order indicates that it will attempt to boot from optical first and then hard drive.
The machine has Debian Linux on.
The machine gets to the BIOS and then reports that there are no bootable devices available.
However, if as soon as the machine hits the BIOS we hit the F10 button (Boot menu) and then select the hard drive from here the machine boots just fine.
So, if we manually bring up a boot menu and selct the hard drive, machine boots. If we leave the machine we're told "no bootable devices found".
So it sounds like something at the BIOS level. Any idea what we might need to look for?
