I bought a new build last December'ish time which has been working fine until today!

EDIT: Also note that the machine is not overclocked at all. Also the machine has never locked up or blue screened since it was built.

Hardware..

Core 2 Duo E6600 Retail inc. stock cooler
Geil DDR2-6400 2gb (2x1Gb) matched kit
ASUS GA-965P-DS3
Nvidia 7900GTO

Sympton..

At POST it gets to the part where it looks at the memory and basically sits there where it says "Memory". Sometimes it drops the "y" off memory strangely or half renders the letter "y". Also this has happened before occassionaly but only for a second or two before carrying on the POST process and booting windows.

Diagnosis..

In order to try and see what the problem is I have pulled both memory modules and tried, one on its own, both in different sockets, both in alternate sockets and one at a time. Nothing alters the sympton above. Unfortunately I dont have another machine to try alternate parts to narrow down the problem. Im typing this on a laptop.

All the hardware was bought from OCUK but I'm just trying to figure out whether its the board or mem. Any ideas?? My gut feel says memory but that aint particularly scientific :p

EDIT: Ive just left the machine as above in the symptons section for 1/2 hour and by the time i came back it was in windows. Seems like it is just taking far longer now than before. Any tests I can do in windows to confirm?
