hi there, i am planning on putting some heavy programmes on my macbookpro so i want them on an ssd which i plan on installing, i plan on having my 500gb hdd as storage and the ssd exclusively for programmes. I have these programmes on disk so would need to use the disk drive to install, i was thinking of putting them onto the hdd then moving them to the ssd when it is installed, or should i install the ssd put the OS on it and then install the programmes and then put the hdd in the disk drive bay, which brings me to my next problem, i dont have any bootable storage device for my macbookpro, can i create one? or should i buy cheap one as i plan on getting osx mountain lion when it comes out. Also any help on which ssd i should go for and why would be great. will be very greatful for any help with any of these problems, just want to know the simplest way to do it, cheers.

Get yourself an 8gb usb stick to make a bootable lion install disk and install lion on your SSD (you may as well wait a week as ML is due this week) . Then simply run the "Migration Assistant" utility in lion to transfer all the apps from your old drive over to the new one without needing to re-install anything or having to use external DVD drives etc. Dead easy job to do.
