Macro lens - S80

Just a quick one - is this any good? It would be for a Powershot S80 but seems to be too cheap to be, but for only £20 inc p&p I thought it might be worth a try.

I would imagine that a 16 diopter lens is not going to be of the best standard. It has to do a lot of magnifying there, and I'm not sure that the quality will be that great.

Does the S80 have the ability to attach normal filters to it? If so, you should be able to pick up a filter that screws in and allows you to focus closer. I have a 2 diopter one for my S5500, and am really quite pleased with it.

I had +10, +4, +2 and +1 lenses for my s5500 and never had any problem with quality, it was £20 for the lot. Also using them all at once would make it a +17 if i'm not mistaken. The images i took with it were fine

These are just resized with no cropping:

This one was cropped a bit (only took a bit off the top)

This last image was actualy done panorama style, 18 images the result was about 4400 x 4000 pixels

I know these aren't the best in the world, but for a set of lenses that was £20 delivered, I'm not complaining. Also most of the problems I faced were with a shallow DOF, rather than poor a quality lens.
