As the likely hood of war breaking out between the French and the UK again is ever increasing.. Who would win ?

Would we miss overated French wine and food, I mean cornish Brie is just as good as the French now and we will be getting cheaper fish ?

Will we hit the red button and blow up the channel tunnel to prevent the French invading again ?

There won't be a war. The French are being loud and obnoxious as usual but soon backed off when the RN arrived.

Isn't this forum supposed to be for serious discussion?

Macrons an idiot and the EU continues to prove that we were right to leave .

Its France, they have not won anything since the Holy Roman Empire was disbanded.

(except a world cup)

:p

Nobody is going to war over fishing rights. That's an utterly ridiculous notion. When it comes down to it, fishing is little more than a populist political football; fishing is not an industry of any major consequence, but it is one which has the ability to rile the public on both sides of the Brexit arguments.

The French just handing Boris a nice bump in the elections today....sending warships out to deal with the frogs plastered all over the front pages of the right-wing rags is an absolute boon for the Tories.

Maybe your too young to know about COD wars.

Boris rousing the faithful ready for todays vote, judging by comments seen here and elsewhere it is working well.

Of course its nationalistic nonsense, Macron is a idiot same goes for Boris but they keep clinging to the purse strings somehow and stunts like this feed their machine.

The Cod Wars were a diplomatic stand-off with a bit of military posturing. Barely wars, really. One fatality, caused by an accident. They went as far as they did largely for two reasons; we thought we could bully Iceland in to backing down, and the Icelandic economy was so reliant on fishing (at that time) that the Icelanders couldn't afford to back down.

This situation is quite different. Fishing isn't of major economic consequence to either the UK or France. And neither nation is going to successfully "bully" the other with a show of military strength. Any "war" is going to be disproportionate to the problem and utterly fruitless at delivering a solution.

Merci pour cela, I needed a good laugh, as due to stepping on some glass yesterday, I wasn’t too happy about walking to the polling station today, to do my bit in trying to oust le maudit socialiste Khan from City Hall.
Allons enfants de la patrie!
