Hi there! I received as a present Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard and all over the place manual talks about "programmable macro keys".
What are those? Can someone give me an example in real- life gaming use?

Many thanks!

Macros are a recorded set of keystrokes that can be used for 1 button. For example: Enter > A > Space.

By the way, you can do this with software and set it to any key or combination of keys. There's no need for extra "macro" keys on a keyboard, it's a marketing gimmick that makes the keyboard un-necessarily bigger.

Also, there's virtually no need for these macros in games, I've yet to find one use for them

Good for work though ;)

Thanks! Well, it's a good thing then i didn't pay for it. Nice backlighting though!
