Do Apple Mac desktops and Laptops need firewall and anti-virus protection? I heard somewhere they didn't because viruses are aimed at PC's, is this correct?

Macs are Carriers of Viruses :mad:

People think "Oh i have a Mac i wont get Viruses so i dont need to get anything to help stop them"
But they do get them and they pass them onto PCs with force :mad: :(

Bad experience you see :p

Its like Genital warts, On Men it wont cause many problems at all and shouldn't effect them, The men then sleep with the woman and the women get them and get Cervical Cancer because of them.

Men=Macs
Women=PCs

Mac OS X has a built-in firewall that deals with incoming traffic but not outgoing (like XP).

The only decent antivirus product for Mac that I know of is Intego's VirusBarrier X. That stops Windows virii. Keep meaning to see if there is a trial version of that to have a tinker with. (They also do NetBarrier X which is a more featured firewall than the built-in OS X one.)

Going to be using Mac OS X. Would rather not have to spend anymore on security unless really need to. Is the built in firewall good enough?
