Macs and Proxies

Hello all,

Looking for a bit of help for a friend who's using a mac book. Basically when in college she needs to enable a proxy server to access the internet then disable it outside of the college so I'm wondering if there is a quick and easy method to do this on a macbook?

It should be dead easy using Locations.

System Preferences, Network

You then have a Location dropdown - Set up multiple locations, one with proxy settings and one without.

The proxy settings can be found through System Preferences, Network, Advanced and then the Proxies button thingie.

Or you can use safari for "normal" browsing, and firefox for "proxy" browsing, or something like that.
