Mad lag causing double/triple posts.

Since I haven't made any double posts yet I'm curious as to what people are doing to end up posting twice or even three times...
 
You click on post and the little posting bars scroll round. If you miss the scrolling bars, then there's still the opportunity to hit the post button again, as if you mis-clicked in the first place. Then you end up with a double post.

A slightly more serious answer: the call-back from the server to the browser doesn't appear to be happening, or happening within the timeout period, is how it looks to me.

There's also a massive delay between posting and seeing your post (ie from another tab that you refresh).

I'm fairly sure the call-back lets the browser know that the post has been submitted correctly. Without it the browser just waits then times out.
 
I had this problem earlier. Never doubled posted before and noticed one or two others doing it as well. I had more patience with other posts and it's been OK since.

The golden rule is: always assume your post was submitted OK and wait a few mins to make sure.

And if you write an essay cut/paste it before pressing "submit"...

Yeah thats the one then it eventually returns to the preview screen so you hit the "post" button a second time and then you've got a double post as it posted while the button processing thing was going on. I've gotten wise to it now and just exit once it starts glitching as its already done its thing
