Basically we've got a skip because we're doing our back garden. Because we've got a tarmacked drive, next door have said we can put it on theirs (concrete) because it wont do any damage. Anyway, it was meant to be picked up today and next door are out so all would be fine. Called up the bloke and he basically said that there was nobody to pick it up and it wouldn't be sorted until monday! That's an issue because my next door neighbours car is stuck behind this skip and that means they've only got 1 between the two of them.

Anyway, I spoke to the skip guy and said that the driver told me it could be picked up Friday or today, to which he said that the driver hadn't told him and there was nothing he could do. So I said, "with all due respect, that's not my problem - Im not gonna go over your drivers head to ensure he's telling me the truth, i'll just take what he said as right and go with that".

So this guy, John, said "I'm not gonna argue with you" and hung up. So I called him back and said "I don't know how you run your business, but you don't hang up on customers". Well with that, he went off his head!
"You dont ******* tell me how I run my ******* business, I'll ******* run it how I want. If I ******* come down there it'll be more than a skip that gets lifted. Feel free to call the police and call a politician I don't ******* care. Now **** off and we'll be there on monday".

Needless to say I was gobsmacked! We've logged it with the police because I don't want him coming down and damaging either the cars, drive, retaining walls etc.

What a nutter!

I wouldn't know what to do either, unfortunately you still need something from him so you can't go down there and kick up a fuss until the skips gone really. Definetely take this to trading standards, police and bbc midlands today might cover your story or something. You should try and name and shame his company definetely afterwards to warn future potential customers, if bbc midlands today don't, you could try the itv local news instead, newspapers or even "House of Horrors" or one of those types of shows where they'll get him in and film him.

Skip hire and waste disposal is a rough and tumble business I think. His response doesn't surprise me at all. I'd be inclined to keep an eye on the driver when he arrives to collect it. But it's probably another case of all mouth and no trousers as far as the boss is concerned.

Apart from your neighbours not having access to their 2nd car you have a skip for an extra 2 days, always handy, over here they charge 20 euro's a week whilst you have it.

Offtopic, I notice Peter File had a long and industrious posting career.:)

Typical kind of behaviour I would expect from someone of that ilk. You sometimes get bad ones, but even more frequently get bad ones.

We've had problems with mobile tyre fitter vans parking in our culde-sac and residents parking spaces, even though their depot is only a few streets away.

One day I got home from work and noticed that there was a van parked in one of our spaces, and then another one turned up and parked next to our drive, making it a bit awkward to get in and out.

I approached the guy and asked him what was going on... Said that they were taking the mick by parking two vans there. The bloke then went off on one saying he lived round the corner and that he was entitled to park where he wanted (even though the property deeds for houses in our area state NO commercial vehicles) and that the other van was nothing to do with him and that it was his mates...Typical ignorant response I had expected to elicit from him.

yeah, i would rig up away to record the phone calls and call him back and see whats said..

Biohaz--- nice sig mate

Your a mad man....

.....this is blasphemy this is madness!

Madness......THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should have did that to the ****. Attract a little attention to his business in the hope that they uncover some dodgy stuff. :D

Personally, I'd call another skip comapany and pay them to remove it. Then wait for the look on his face on Monday morning when he turns up to collect it.

"Skip! What skip?"
