a crappy part of London
£24 for an adult and £20 for kids, I took the other half so £48 out of my pocket, we were only in there just over an hour and we saw everything there was to see. You can't go back on yourself either if you want to look again or missed something.

I was stunned at the prices, thought they couldn't be right when they flashed up on screen, you get a whole day with unlimited rides at a theme park for that or several cinema trips.

No real point to this thread other than to moan about how much I had to fork out I can't be that out of touch that those sorts of prices are considered fair for an hour of so-so entertainment even London theatres are better value.

Enjoyed the Imperial War museum more come to think of it and that was free

That's the problem with London, tourists will pay the prices no matter what they are so they can charge almost what they want.

At those prices why did you give them your patronage

Because my fiancee has been banging on about how much she wanted to go there for her birthday and I didn't find out the prices till I was standing there with her, I assumed it would be £12-15 at most.

I seem to remember spending much more like 4 hours or so in there, I think you must have sprinted through the place if you only lasted an hour. Plus the planetarium was fun too. Overpriced regardless, of course!

I got kicked out of Tussaud's for knocking over one of the actors in the scary dungeon thing. Basically it had been a really really bad experience all the way from the entrance. We got shepherded into the dungeon even though we didn't want to go in - then the 'actors' were too busy eyeing up all the girls (inlcuding my gf) to do their jobs properly. Things came to a head when one of them wouldn't let us past. I politely asked for him to move aside. He refused (part of the act of being a 'crazed jailer'.). I then explained to him that my gf was getting upset and that we just wanted to get past. He refused again. So I walked through him and he fell on his backside. We then got evicted.

I have to agree it's over priced although I seem to remember if you go after 17:00 the price is mush less than that. Although it has been so long since I have been they used to charge separately for the Planetarium and Tussauds (I only bothered going to the Planeterium).

Excellent places to go in London:

Sir John Soane's Museum http://www.soane.org/ free
The V&A http://www.vam.ac.uk/ free
Apsley House Museum £4.50
The British Museum http://www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk/ free

There are others but I remember enjoying them the most :)

went to the NYC one
it was crap
the london one was no better,
sad realy, thought it was supposed to be realy quite good, but for that price I could go out for dinner or buy 5 bottles of wine EACH

I remember going in 2003 and I think it was only £12 for me then as a 16 year old. I was slightly disappointed to be honest as there didn't appear to be all that many wax models. Definately not as many as I thought there would be. I also hated the dungens I was guiding 2 blind friends and i'm visually impaired myself and finding my way round that place was terrible, I just wanted out. I didn't realise there was going to be real actors either. Parts of it made me think I was in some kind of computer game lol.

It's always been ridiculously priced - not that it makes it any better ofcause...

As we're on the subject - I went to the Science Museum the other day for the first time in about five years and, is it me, or has it got worse - less depth of information and less fun interactive stuff (I remember when you entered to your right there used to be a large hall called the launchpad or something like that with lots of practical stuff with ropes and sand etc that's not there anymore)

fini

Thats why i refuse to go to these silly touristy things here in London, no way am i paying stupid prices to see some wax figures lol:p.
