Made a decision, I think!

I'm thinking of purchasing a Phenom II 940 BE, the motherboard I have decided on is the Asus M3A79-T Deluxe, the problem is what if the motherboard doesn't come with the updated bios as I don't have a AM2 cpu spare to flash the bios with. I will also need 4GB of memory for this set up and have been looking at Corsair, any advice on what to go for will be appreciated. the set up will be used for photo editing, Photoshop etc, no gaming at all. Is this a decent spec for my needs? or could I get away with maybe a cheaper motherboard.

My M3A79-T came with the 602 bios, no problem running and flashing an update. I can't comment on any previous revisions.

For memory I went with OCZ Gold

running quite happily at 1066.

Did you need to use a flash drive to update the bios or did you manage to do it from the O/S?

I didn't want to risk Windows. The bios has a built in flasher that works with fat formatted flash drives, a totally painless procedure

This was with a 720 btw.
