hi guys,
i have been playing around with the idea of getting a mini mac for ages and kept putting it off. But as of last night i now own a mac mini and i must say its a great piece of kit.

Just waiting on leopard coming now to get a play about with it.

Has anyone got any hints or tips for me???

Which Mac Mini did you go for? £400 or £500 model?
I bought the £500 model with a apple keyboard and I have to say it's a great robust piece of kit.

Nice one. You will really like it as you get to know all the little cool things it does!

As Will has said, read the sticky, tons of useful stuff in there. If you want more info, I suggest buying 'The Missing Manual - OS X Leopard Edition'. Great book for starting out with.

Enjoy.

i have not really done anythig with it yet guys as i need to wait until i get the leopard up to date disk from apple.

I got it from a high street retailer who i normally never buy anything from but i went in because i was told they had a new apple store in-store. I asked the girl on the desk if they had any mini macs and she said yea they only had 1 left as they had stopped selling them.

Spec:
1.83 intel core 2 duo
512mb Ram (Upgrading to 2gb after xmas)
Superdrive rights and plays cd and dvd
built in wireless
bluetooth

all for £297, i honestly couldnt believe it, i snapped it up on the spot. I had been looking one for ages as i wanted one for my 46" LCD in the living room, but gonna wait until i get leopard on it before i hook it up.

The tiger system is good but i have read loads of reviews on leopard and just cant wait to try it out.

I bought the apple bluetooth keyboard with it aswell and its also great, infact the keyboard and the mac look absolutely amazing, i actually hate using them incase i make a mark on the beautiful clean white surface/silver surface.

Do any of you use the apple wireless mouse??? I have read a few reviews on this and they have said that they are not that good. Most people were saying that the scroll button on the mouse kept breaking and the same with the buttons???

What are your recomendations guys as i do need one and it has to be bluetooth compatible, i would love an apple mouse but dont want to be buying it if its going to cause me hassle.

ahh the old mac minis.

Yeah. the mice aren't too good, but i dont use it. I use a razer mouse from my pc and a wired apple keyboards. The keyboards really are amazing.
