MADNESS (controller power off) any help

Hi guys

so my wife now has to get up early for work so i watch my xbox tv /netflix/amazon/plex in bed with the wired headphones connected to the pad


Yet every ten mins im having to press a button to keep the pad active so it doesnt turn off for power saving mode.

i have a decent pair of wired headphones which were not cheap and are very comfortable to wear and have good sound so i dont see why i should buy some wireless ones just to watch xbox apps.

does anyone have a solution to this apart from buying wireless headphones or getting a 10ft usb cable

massive oversight from microsoft if you ask me ? i am sure they could update firmware to let you choose if your controller turns off or not .

Better still why not release a multimedia remote with a headphone jack in it like the roku sticks .

On the PS4 you can choose whether devices power off after a set time of not being used. It's in the power saving options I think. Not sure about Xbox though.
