Anyone heard/read anything...will there be a third?

Really enjoyed Mafia 2 (Minus the crappy DLC).

Also is Mafia 1 worth buying?...not sure if i could deal with those graphics. :D

I would love to see a third title. I never played the DLC's but did thoroughly enjoy Mafia 2. I did buy the first but found it hard to get into.

Play the first one. There's a reason why lovers of the first don't really like the second and that's because it's nothing in comparison.

lol Mafia 2 is complete garbage put against the storyline of the first game. Mafia 1 has one hell of a strong storyline. I'm hoping there won't be a third, the devs completely milked Mafia 2 with pathetic, poorly made DLC and I shudder to think how poor a third installment will be.

Mafia 1 was utterly incredible for its time..just consider, it had graphics on par with Max Payne (which was graphical benchmark and powerhouse back then) but in huge open world city, with traffic and very realistic physics to boot.
Plus it had extremely varied missions (each taking place somewhere else, in unique location - motel, bank, steamboat, prison...), one of the best stories ever put into videogame (not many games have surpassed it to this day..if any), I could go on!

And it was made by 20 people studio as its second game.

Mafia 1 is and always will be a masterpiece.

Plus it ages pretty well. Here are few screens I made when I replayed it few years ago:

Ah memories. Great from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed the bank, restaurant and hotel missions.
Mafia 2 is absolutely pathetic compared to the first one.

The first had lots of character and charm.. the second was technically superior in every way except it had no soul which just made it a generic driver / shooter.

Loved the first, one of my all time favourite games, couldnt get into the second at all, i tried twice and got bored on the taxi mission where you had to drop off tickets or something to garages, mega boring.

Just wish mafia games would allow more free roaming like saints row or gta as the graphic scenary is amazing would love to just go explore but its just mission after mission really
