......firstly apologies if this has been posted before.

I was so impressed with Mafia 2 that i have just downloaded the original Mafia from Steam. 1st impressions is the game doesn't look half as nice as Mafia 2 and i was just wondering if anyone here can advise me what is the best settings on the panel that pops up (Truecolour? etc etc). I seem to have a problem with flickering shadows and the graphics seem a bit juddery.
i really want to try and get into this over the weekend ....

Not sure on the settings, but you won't be disappointed with Mafia. It's ten times the game Mafia II is (and I really enjoyed Mafia II).

Mafia 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>> Mafia 2

The reason the graphics are poo is because the game came out in 2002 (they were really good back then!).

... i seem to have sorted the flickering shadows problem. Instead of 'Hardware TransformLighting' i have selected 'Multipass rendering' and the 'Clip always' setting.

.....but ... the in-game options for the graphics setting don't seem to save. Everytime i restart the game the settings go back to default. 2002 was a very annoying year haha ....

this never happened to me, and I replayed Mafia four times on 3 different PCs.

OMG! A game from 2002 doesn't look nearly as good as a game from 2010!??!?!?!?
