So my brother has me persuaded me to buy a PS3 I've order few games with it and MAG, Anyone here play MAG not sure which faction to choose when it arrives I have been told certain factions are overpowered? Or contain better players?
Is this myth lol :confused:
 
Hi,

Me and a few buddies played this for a while earlier in the year, go play it immediately it's a quality game. We played for Raven, I wouldn't say PMCs are overpowered but their weapons are different:

Raven - Advanced weaponry and equipment, guns have high accuracy but lack stopping power.
S.V.E.R - Cheap weaponry and equipment, guns have lower accuracy but good stopping power behind them.
Valor - Somewhere in between Raven and S.V.E.R.

If you're used to playing games like CoD and BF, at first you're gonna to be surprised by how difficult it can be to drop people especially as players can heal themselves and others so you'll need to be precise with your shots. I know my KD ratio sky rocketed on CoD and other FPS games after playing MAG for a while. Start playing as soon as you can, it really is an amazing game I'd go back to it if some of my mates hadn't traded it in for Black Ops.
 
Raven are like high tech, SVER are basically dirty Russian types with old but reliable weapons, so AK47's and RPG's and Valor are basically the US military, if I remember correctly.
 
Yeah i fancy getting back into MAG tbh

Might try grab a 2nd hand copy somewhere as i miss it :(

Dont really know why i stopped playing as its absolutely fantastic.
 
You'll have great fun :), but be very patient hehe

I went with SVER in the end as i like the whole underdog ruskies thing :)
(bear in mind you can choose any voice you like on the character creation)

Only problem with SVER and VALOR is that they are quite populated so you sometimes have to wait in a queue (no more than 10 mins) to get into some of the bigger games.

Player skill doesn't matter overly as there is generally a good mix in each game tbh and later on they are so big that you generally can find your niche
 
I still need to play MAG I've had the game for a few weeks now, I've just been busy trying to complete R&C :p
 
I got this from Argos today for a fiver second hand - I look forward to giving it a go. Anyone on here still play it?
