I'm confused. Can someone please fill me in on what the whole Magibon thing is all about?

Regular weeaboo or clever viral campaign to promote an upcoming movie?

A while back (several months) someone made a website at magibon.com which showed a man in a gas-mask (apparantly called 'frank') in a dark room
with pictures of 'magibon' and was drawing a sketch of them together. (see youtube link above).

Now that has changed to just text, but I can't read it because it's only in English for a few milliseconds.

Can someone please tell me what the text says?

Oh no. I lied. It's actually random jumbled words with "Frank don't do it" now and again.

:\

:Edit: Got a better screenshot now.

Magibon wishes she was an attractive oriental girl fluent in Japanese. Unfortunately she's sad, ugly white trash who uses the weeaboo persona as a veneer to gloss over how unhappy she is with her excessively pathetic existence.

The moar you know:

I love how, in spite of the fact that she is nothing but a vacuous girl who wishes she was Japanese, there are still people who think she is "playing" everyone else and that she's more clever than we realise.

Q: Why does she have haters at all?
A: It is hard to understand how a cute girl that is always friendly and never violent to anyone can have haters, but it is a fact that she has some haters. These haters are mean and jealous people who can not stand the fact that Magi is very popular and gets more and more supporters and friends every day. Some of her haters are obscene and violent. Obscene and violent people hate Magi because she is pure, friendly and innocent.

Stupid people hate her because of her silence in her Nothing-series. These silent videos work like some paintings of modern art or a Rorschach inkblot test. An inkblot test shows nothing but an inkblot, but it is also a kind of mirror of the soul of the people who are watching it. So, if a person is interested in UFO-Stories he will probably see a spaceship in this inkblot, while another one is interested in geography and he can see the shape of an island or continent. People who have no creativity or intelligence can see nothing but an inkblot. Exactly the same happens with Magis silent-videos. Intelligent and creative people can enjoy her videos because they find a lot of intelligence and creativity in them. Stupid people can see nothing but "a girl that stares into a camera". This makes them angry and sometime turns them into Magi-haters because Magis videos remind them of their own lack of creativity and unability to understand demanding things. Therefore stupid and uneducated people call her videos stupid and obscene while intelligent people really enjoy her videos.

No. She's just a girl that stares into the camera.

Why is she famous? Whats she done?

In a nutshell; She stares into a camera whilst attempting to look cute and prentending to be Japanese.

Japanese 'fans' paid for her to go to Japan and appear on a TV show, where it was discovered she wasn't quite as cute as she was in her video's (very bad teeth being most noticable).

Also somebody set up a creepy stalkertastic website, which was so well made people, including myself, began to wonder if there was more to this whole thing than meets the eye.

Essentially she hasn't done anything, but there are nonetheless enough rumours and 'hype' surrounding this whole thing to propel it to the levels of 'internet phenomenon'.
