Magic keyboard for iPad

I’ve bought one of these from Amazon.
I’m a little worried it might be a fake because it doesn’t feel like the ”Apple” quality I’d expect for the price you pay.
Is there an easy way to tell if its fake?

When I plug it in and goto Settings -> General -> About -> Magic Keyboard is does show the following:

Manufacturer: Apple Inc
Serial number: …
Firmware version: 0450.0523.0200
Hardware version: 0009

Does that mean its deffo an official product?

Is there more than one version of this keyboard?

Yes, there’s different versions.

You have the same one as me, which is for the pre M models - still works fine though! It’s just not the exact bang on fit.

If it fits it’s fine.

The only reason I would change it is if you’ve been charged full price for it.

JL was selling them at a discount of around £150 (I think) when the new ones were released.

I was charged full price…hence why I want to sent it back and get the proper one…I just want to know what the proper one is so I can make sure

There’s only .5mm a difference between the two.

If you’re paying full price why not just buy directly from apple? The whole point of buying else where is to to either save money, get extended warranty or they’re not in stock with apple.

Just return it and get it directly from apple and you’ll have piece of mind.
