Magic Mouse, possible to disable acceleration?

Hey guys, I've just bought a Magic Mouse to use while my MBP is docked and so far it's driving me crazy - is there a way to disable mouse acceleration and speed up the cursor? I've got it on the fastest setting and trying to precisely click (or draw) anything is impossible, if I turn the sensitivity down then I need to lift the mouse several times to get it to scroll from one side of the screen to the other!

I'm not sure if it is any use but have a look for steermouse, has some customisable features on there. Apple can make a lot of things, but a rodent they can't!

It's the OS, not the mouse, as said above Steermouse is more customizable if you want a whizzy mouse

I'd also suggest MagicPrefs, my magic mouse became 10 times more useful once I had installed that and worked out what works for me.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. Unfortunately SteerMouse doesn't work with the Magic Mouse but as the name suggests MagicPrefs does so I'm going to give that a try now. I'll report back

Update: MagicPrefs seems to have done the trick in regards to the tracking speed, I'll just have to get used to the acceleration! Thanks guys.

Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!

This may sound stupid but have you tried taking off the battery cover? Not really magical but it's amazing what a difference it makes to the tracking/speed/acceleration. I discovered this purely by accident and noticed a difference immediately. The whole mouse seems more responsive.

Can anyone else confirm this or am I going crazy?

Edit: Turns out I'm not crazy, there was a small article in Macworld about it last year
