Thinking about ordering one soon, but relecutant until some people go first and say it's amazing :p

Who has been brave and bought one?

Do you like it?

How does it feel?

Will drop by the Apple store tomorrow lunch time to play with it if they got one on demo before making up my mind.

Then again I'm happy using both my magic mouse on the iMac and trackpad on the MBP. So can't see why I need one after all.

i am not as i only have macbook pro but i do love the track pad on it.

how ever i will get one for the mac pro when we get round to ordering it :-D

I tried to order one within ten minutes of the store coming back up but my card was bounced - Five phone calls later and I've found out why but it means I can't get one for a few days because of a bank **** up.

I am sorely tempted...SORELY tempted. Not sure where it fits in with the UI paradigm, though. Seems to me you would be constantly moving your digits between mouse and pad....

The worst part is that it sits so nicely next to the real apple keyboard, enticing me to match up and buy two things! And hey, if youre getting the keyboard and the trackpad, why not the mouse too!

Annoyingly the Apple bashers are out in force claiming that the device is OVERPRICED. Look at the price of your average newer released 'gaming' mouse and tell me that the trackpad is overpriced ffs. I paid like £90 for my wireless logitec mx revolution thing just a few months ago.

It's a brilliant accessory tbh. I've yet to read about it fully, but if it is a larger version of the existing trackpads on Macbooks and Pro models then it'll change how a lot of users use their iMacs for starters. Using three finger gestures to navigate around FF is just a joy.

The trackpad on my 13" uMacbook is what makes the entire device the best laptop I've ever owned period. Just wish it worked with windows as I could use it on my main PC...

Oh and the OSX drivers released last night, brought Inertia scrolling to existing Macbook/Pro machines - F T W! :D

Definite no, much rather have a mouse than a trackpad. They are the best trackpads out there on laptops, but it doesn't mean I want one on my desktop.

Kainz, if you paid £90 for the MX Revolution, you've been had, badly!

Much rather a mouse indeed, tsinc, but I cant really tell yet whether we're supposed to use them in conjunction with a mouse or instead of one!

I wouldnt want to be doing anything requiring precision on the trackpad, but as I say - maybe we're supposed to have both?

Hi

Windows drivers info, this is supposed to work if using Bootcamp
"You'll have to download the Apple Magic Trackpad Update 1.0 for Windows, available in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors. The patches support Windows XP, Vista SP2, Windows 7-32, Vista 64, and Windows 7-64"

The only other company I'm aware of with trackpads/touchpads are cirque, who I don't think have a distributor in Britain.

I've been trying since 10:00 to get through to the Apple store in Lakeside but they're not answering. I need to know if they've got them because if they have then I'll take a drive over at lunchtime to have a look/play.

I could never see the use for one on a desktop really. I'm sure it feels great but when i have my mouse set at 1800dpi this is just easier no doubt..I rarely need to zoom in either so
