Magic Trackpad - who has ordered one?

Is that because of the weird angle? I kind of wish it was flat, but then they'd have to place the batteries somewhere else and make it thicker.

No, it's just because of moving my hand all over and having to constantly lift my other fingers off the trackpad. With a mouse you rest your hand on it which is more comfortable. The angle is very nearly flat imo.

Magic Trackpad + Wacom Tablet for the win.

I have a Magic Mouse but never use it, as I currently use my MBP connected to a large screen, and use a combination of Tablet and track pad gestures and love it. So much faster and accurate than a mouse for me.

Once I get a new desktop I will definitely get a Magic Trackpad to continue using my current navigation goodness :D

I just switched back to my MX518 to have a blast on CS:S and although it was great for the game, I found it really awful for navigating around everything else - I've got so used to the pad now that the mouse just feels wrong!

Thinking about getting one these for use with my iMac. What has the battery life been like with yours Feek? :)

Bearing in mind that I never switch it off - I got it on the 28th July which was the day after they were launched and I'm on the second set of batteries now. I've just checked the status and they're showing 82% so the battery drain really is minimal.

I never really used expose before but the four fingered downward gesture brings it up and I do use it a lot.

Thought I;d try one out as I've been told they are awesome so I had a quick play in an Apple store. Just couldn't get to grips with it. Where do you put your hand? To the side?

On a laptop I rest my hand next to the trackpad, with this it just feels awkward or I put my hand on the trackpad and it thinks I'm using multiple fingers. Might stick with a Magic Mouse as my next Apple purchase!

I just hover my fingers over it when using. Move hands away when not. Move the whole thing around the desk a bit occasionally. Feels quite natural to me (although out of habit I've gone to grab it like a mouse a couple of times!). It's also the exact height and angle of the keyboard so can very smoothly go from one to another!

I can't decide if I want one! I have a Wacom Bamboo and a Magic Mouse. I would use the wacom if it wasn't for the pen, so maybe the magic trackpad will be usable. Just a hefty amount of money lol

Ah that's what I don't like, hovering. Much prefer a mouse where you can rest your whole hand on it, the magic mouse fits my hand great!

I have a Wacom Bamboo and a regular mouse, don't really see the point. If I didn't have the Bamboo already then maybe yeah.

thinking of getting one of these today but can someone please tell me if you can move the pointer from far left of your screen to far right i one move on the track pad or do you have to do this in more than one movement ?

I have two monitors next to each other, a 24" and a 22" and if I put the pointer on the far left of the 24" then move it right, I get all the way through the 24" and two thirds of the way accross the 22" before my finger hits the opposite edge of the pad.

I got one in the end for my macbook when I hook it up to my monitor and it is fantastic, it is very responsive and the gestures are great to use.
