Magma power supply blew! (comp bust?)

Sounds like the psu blew up and the rest should be fine, would be unlucky if not.
If your lucky buy a quality psu with surge protection next time

Slight sidetrack (+ silly question), but if I was in an 115v area & I set PSU to 230v what would happen?

To OP: Damaged one of those universal adaptors by setting it to 115v. It went toast but did not take out what was connected to it. In your case this is also most likely, but you won’t know until you test with other PSU. Also, if you have to buy a new PSU, buy a reputable one like Tagan which auto select the voltage (hence don't have a switch for any one to play around with) :D

If you changed it to 230V whilst on 115V, I think all that would happen is that your PC woldn't get enough voltage. Not something I would be willing to test though :p .

Jokester

Not surge protection as in the same as the ones you can buy, but in the context of this thread; if its not auto switching I would guess it would sacrifice itself to save the other components if you changed the volt switch. (If it is not auto switching)

thank god it was the psu only. tested and everything works apart from hard drive which says "ntldr is missing"

You have to set it as the primary boot device, I got the same thing when I flashed my BIOS and it had changed it to a HD without an OS.
