The tools I own are absolutely crappy and I need to purchase some better ones which would include a screwdriver.
I would much prefer a magnetic one for motherboard screws and other awkward positioned ones.
Is it safe to have one in a PC? Hard drives are magnetic so im guessing its safe?
Did some forum searching and answers are mainly no but with no reason and threads started in the early 2000s.

can anyone clarify on this?

I have use magnetized screwdrivers on my builds / rebuilds and have never had a problem.

As long as you don't use very powerful magnets you should be ok.

I always use magnetic extendable screwdrivers as I'm constantly losing stuff inbetween the HSF and/or other parts of the motherboard. They're relatively weak magnets so I've never really thought twice about it
